Every practice on this site — hypnosis, energy work, reiki — gets easier once the mind knows how to get quiet. That skill is called meditation, and the honest version of it is simpler than the apps suggest.

Sit comfortably. Put attention on the breath at the nostrils or the belly. When the mind wanders — it will, roughly every ten seconds at first — notice it wandered, and come back to the breath. That noticing-and-returning is the exercise. Every return is a repetition, like a push-up for attention. Nobody is bad at this; everybody gets distracted.
Start guided. A voice gives the mind something to hold, which makes the first weeks far less frustrating — and free guided meditations are everywhere. The Reiki Meditations playlist on this site’s reiki guide doubles as a beginner meditation series. After a couple of weeks, try short silent sits and see which you prefer.
After two weeks, you will notice the difference outside of sits: a half-second of space between a trigger and your reaction. That space is what every practice on this site is built on — the self-hypnosis method deepens it, the reiki sessions pair with it, and the chakra framework gives it a map. For recorded sessions that carry you deeper than a beginner sit can, the guided hypnosis collection from the studio behind this site is the next rung.
